Regular inspections extend the lifetime of a furnace, as damage or wear can be identified early. We can carry out regular on-site inspections, which are essential to accurately monitor the condition of the furnace and optimise the operating conditions.
Access to the inner furnace or regenerator is typically only possible through inspection holes, which provides a limited view. With a water-cooled endoscope, that can be operated during the normal working conditions, SKS is able to evaluate difficult areas inside the furnace and determine the wear of the refractory materials.
Visual inspections are carried out by experienced technicians, who are capable of evaluating the current condition of your furnace. Identifying critical areas early prevents any unexpected problems. All results are featured in a report which is often the basis for further maintenance or repair procedures or required by insurers.
Determining the thickness of the furnace bottom provides valuable information about the corrosion of the refractory material. For this, our technicians drill small holes in strategic positions on the furnace bottom, which are closed afterwards with refractory plugs.
