SKS provides a turnkey approach from drainage and demolition to steelwork, refractories and furnace start-ups. Working in conjunction with the furnace designer, we deliver our projects on schedule, with exacting safety standards.
We offer complete demolition of glass furnaces as well as partial demolition of steel and refractory in the case of a partial repair.
For each project we analyse the site conditions and provide our customers with the correct equipment and machinery to ensure a smooth and safe demolition of the furnace.
SKS supplies all the steel required for furnace construction, including steelwork for furnace support, bracing, platforms and walkways.
To ensure that the steelwork complies with the engineering drawings and meets our quality standards, we also supervise the entire fabrication process.
We also take care of all logistics to the construction site, as well as on-site logistics and storage organisation.
Our qualified team of steelworkers install steelwork with the highest quality and safety standards. They work closely with our refractory installation team to ensure a smooth and on-time installation of the complete furnace.
The refractory installation is one of the most essential parts during furnace construction, especially in the area of the glass contact material. To ensure the quality of work, we can bank on our 160-strong expert team.
The final stage of each construction is the controlled heat-up of your glass furnace. Our specialists ensure and control the correct adjustment of the steel bracing throughout the entire heating phase.
Cullet fill can be done either with vibration chutes or by cullet blower, depending on the furnace type and glass.
